Word on the Decline
We always get excited when a miner finds itself in a trading halt relating to media speculation. It’s almost always a deal. But this time we couldn’t find the deal rumour!

Lindian’s halt seems to relate to a fresh parliamentary probe into whether Kangankunde should hold a large-scale mining licence. Malawi’s regulator has previously said the project does not meet the statutory thresholds, including US$250 million of investment, 1,000 employees or production above 5Mtpa.
But a large scale mining license would give the government a 10% free-carried interest. So the mine may be too small to qualify, but apparently large enough to attract another hand into the register.
This is Africa.
