Word on the Decline

  • One of the consensus near-term deals coming out of Beaver Creek is C$640m Regulus Resources and its AntaKori copper-gold project in Peru. Regulus has always been explicit about the endgame: de-risk the asset, then sell to a major.

  • AntaKori hosts 517Mt containing ~5.0B lbs copper and 4.5Moz gold, with a new integrated resource across AntaKori and adjoining Coimolache sulphides completed in June.

  • Gold Fields is being touted as a high-prospect suitor, with nearby Cerro Corona running down and AntaKori offering an obvious life-extension angle for its existing infrastructure and operating footprint. We dare say their near-term appetite depends heavily on how the Northern Star tilt shakes out…
