Word on the Decline

This is a striking verbatim quote from Barrick Chairman John Thornton announcing Bock as the new CEO of the Rest of World business. Especially when you consider that the only Chinese JVs in the RoW business today are Porgera and Veladero.
What’s the read through? Reko Diq, African gold… Lumwana?
Barrick can sell a stake in Porgera or Kibali to Zijin without Washington losing much sleep. But Reko Diq and Lumwana are different.
It would be mildly awkward if one of the corridor’s great copper prizes, Barrick’s Lumwana, subsequently welcomed Zijin or Jianxi into the project or RoW register.

Devil’s in the Detail
Gotta love the ASX. Where a $80k of volume can send a $7m ShitCo to a $123m market cap in two days…

Nothing to see here though
