Word on the Decline

  • Aurenne has gone nuclear on Forrestania’s Zenith takeover, refusing to tender its blocking 11% stake. If you read one press release today, make it this entertaining spray from Aurenne.

  • It savages FRS’s "unproven" hub-and-spoke strategy and Edna May acquisition, an asset Aurenne inspected and passed on. It also takes aim at Zenith directors approving themselves 22 million performance rights during sale talks, and describes building two processing plants from scratch as "brave".

  • Taking a step back, it appears we have another Dacian on our hands. Genesis secured 80% before spending eight months stranded with a minority, eventually returning with a sweeter offer to win over the 10.56% holdouts. Trouble for Forrestania is Aurenne doesn't just dislike the price, it doesn't want the paper.

  • Control is one thing, getting rid of an uncooperative minority is quite another. This could be a long marriage.
