It’s been three years since we started Money of Mine.

When we quit our jobs to start a podcast, it was undoubtedly an absurd decision.

But the thinking was simple. We wanted to build the show we wished existed when we were juniors in mining IB. One that actually explained what was going on in mining and the markets, without the fluff.

Trav’s living room was Money of Mine studio 1.0

It’s been two years since we launched Director’s Special.

It came from the same place. We wanted a single email we could open in the morning to know we weren’t missing anything important.

No noise, no recycled press releases, just what matters. So we built it.

Now 17,500 of you read it every day.

Truthfully, launching Director’s Special wasn’t as much of a leap of faith as the podcast. We’d already seen it work.

A few years earlier, Kal Jamshidi built Letter of Intent into the most-read daily email in Australian business, before selling it. We looked at it and thought, why doesn’t this exist for ASX mining?

So we copied the blueprint and launched Director’s Special.

We created the show we wanted to listen to.
We launched the email we wanted to read.

But there was always another product we wished existed.

Now we’ve built that too.

And this time, instead of copying Kal, we’re building it with him.

Mineral Metrics, a Money of Mine company.

Kal tested the first version through the Director’s Special.

A simple Excel workbook built around one idea: Accurate mining comp data, on demand.

The response told us there was something there.

Because the pain is real.

The three of us have all lived it. You might have too.

It’s 3am. You’re updating Reserves and Resources line by line. PDFs open in every tab. Numbers that don’t tie. Gruelling.

And that’s the reality across the industry.

Everyone in mining finance is still manually maintaining their own comp R&R workbooks, because no third-party source is truly reliable.

So we built one that is.

Mineral Metrics is a data platform for accurate, traceable, continuously updated mining data.

Every number is double-entered by separate human analysts and independently validated.

Every datapoint traces back to source filings.

Every update is reconciled.

It covers comprehensive R&R data across the ASX and TSX universe, exportable straight into Excel.

No more late-night comp updates.

No more second-guessing someone else’s numbers.

It goes live later this week.
