  • The Resolution copper mine has received environmental approval from the US Department of Agriculture, marking an important milestone for the JV (USDA)

  • CITIC fired back in a $1.8B+ legal battle with Clive Palmer, claiming he expected the miner to underwrite his “idiosyncratic business activities” for 3 decades (West)

  • China sent a rare shipment of at least 3 cargoes of coking coal to processors in Indonesia's Sulawesi, encroaching on a market typically dominated by supplies from Australia and Indonesia (Reuters)

  • Heavily indebted MinRes will pump $150m into its struggling Mt Marion Lithium operation to keep it afloat (AFR)

Wheelin’ n Dealin’

  • New World Resources is in a trading halt pending a potential increase in scheme consideration (NWC)

  • Meteoric & MTM signed an MoU following the latter’s successful completion of proof-of-concept Fash Joule Heating test work, on a sample of MEI’s MREC (MEI)

  • Vanadium Resources has signed an MoU with CPAL for vanadium-rich magnetite DSO from VR8’s Steelpoortdrift project (VR8)

  • Xanadu noted that its largest shareholder, Zijin, has accepted the Bastion offer for all its shares, taking Bastion’s relevant interest to 29.7% (XAM)

Rattlin’ the Tin

  • Sprott Physical Uranium Trust increased their bought-deal to US$200m at US$17.25/share, above the latest price of US$16.98 & last reported NAV of US$17.04 (Mining.com) Spot up US$7/lb to US$76/lb

  • NAIF will provide up to $50m senior debt facility for Element 25’s Butcherbird manganese expansion project in WA’s Pilbara region (E25)

  • Meeka is in halt to raise $40m at 15c to scale up the processing plant and incorporate a third pit (MEK, AFR)

  • Critical Metals Corp is in line for up to US$120m from US EXIM to fund its Tanbreez rare earth project in Greenland (Mining.com) Effective taxpayer fund allocation?

  • Giyani Metals received a LoI from the US EXIM for US$225m (EMM.TO)

Word on the Decline

  • It’s interesting to see the news out of Winsome this morning that they are unlikely to exercise the Renard option in the current market (C$52 million required to be paid)

  • We continue to think about Leo Lithium’s ambitions to re-list by acquiring a development lithium asset. ~3 weeks ago they told shareholders their jurisdictional focus had narrowed on North and South America 

  • Stumping up C$52 million cash would be no issue for Leo Lithium

  • But minimal distribution of Tranche 2 proceeds (~US$178m by 30 June) would surely frustrate a few shareholders…
