Word on the Decline

  • Perseus is still sitting on its PDI Gold stake, and we find that telling.

  • Remember, Perseus owned 19.9% of Predictive before its merger with Robex. Its 93m shares now represent 9.5% of the enlarged company.

  • Bankan's long-awaited exploitation permit is still outstanding, having spent well over a year approaching the finish line (it was lodged in January 2025).

  • We wouldn't be surprised if Perseus has unfinished business here, and the eventual arrival of that permit provides the catalyst for another tilt.

  • Of course, any renewed approach would need to be spectacular to get a hearing. The Battle for Bankan made one thing abundantly clear: PDI shareholders preferred backing the faster horse over taking Perseus paper - even with a premium.
